MADRONA GARDEN

These homeowners found the answer to their dreams when they visited a new all native plant garden that we maintain in Madison Park.  Their existing hardscape was very modern, rectilinear with a very colorful assortment of trees and shrubs.  What they were wanting was something that could play against the hardscape but have a softer, native and more natural feel so that even in their city lot they could feel connected to the Pacific Northwest.  We left a few of the larger plantings, brought in ancient stumps and logs collected years ago by a local logger turned artisan and developed a palate of native plants to create miniature meadows and woodlands in this small back garden.  Now, not only do they have more of the feeling they wanted but their garden is now attracting many of the insects, birds and pollinators local to our region.
